No - Sugar Diwali Ladoos
I love making desserts for Diwali. Especially, Ladoos. I cannot imagine Diwali without Ladoos. This year, I will be teaching you a unique Ladoo recipe. This is Dates Coconut Ladoo. The best part is this uses no sugar. So you don't have to be wary of the calories while you gobble these up!
These Laddus are made with Dates which are sweet in itself and hence, you do not need to add any more extra sugar while making this Ladoo.
Let's talk about the Taste of these Dates Laddus
To describe it in one world, these tastes - Heavenly! What I love about These Ladoos is that they are perfectly sweetened even without adding any extra sugar. The desiccated Coconuts add a nice crunch and chewy taste to these Ladoos. Also, the Khoya plays its part in making this dessert an extraordinary one!
This Dates Coconut Ladoo is one of the best festive Desserts which you should be baking this year. This tastes delicious and is totally healthy.
Dates are filled with proteins and are extremely healthy. While Coconut is something we all love at this time of the year, especially in our Laddus. This makes for a brilliant combination and is just so tasty.
Ingredients I have used to make these Ladoos
- 1 cup Dates (de-seeded and chopped) - I have de-seeded the Dates and pureed them using some water.
- 2 Tbsp Ghee
- ½ cup Desiccated Coconut - I have used homemade desiccated coconut. You can use store-bought desiccated coconut as well.
- ½ cup Cashew Nut and Raisins - I have chopped and toasted the Cashew Nuts and then used it.
- ¼ cup Khus Khus or Poppy Seeds - I have used toasted the khus khus and then used it.
- ¾ cup Khoya (grated)
Making the Dates Coconut Ladoo
- Begin by chopping the dates and removing the seeds. Now take it up in a mixer grinder jar. Blend it into a smooth puree by adding some water.
- Now, dry roast the Khus Khus in a Pan, until it gets toasty and keeps aside.
- In the same pan, add some ghee and toast the chopped Cashew Nuts. Once they get toasted, take it out on a plate and keep aside.
- Add more Ghee in the same Pan. Add the Dates Puree and toast until it gets fragrant. Add the shredded Coconut and Khoya. Mix well until combined. Once it starts to leave the Pan, turn off the flame.
- Now add the dry fruits and mix well. Allow the mixture to cool down and once it's cooled to room temperature, make small balls and dust with the Toasted Khus Khus.

Dates Coconut Ladoo | No-Sugar Dates Laddu

Ingredients
- 1 cup Dates de-seeded and chopped 130gm
- 2 Tbsp Ghee
- ½ cup Desiccated Coconut 50gm
- ½ cup Cashew Nut and Raisins
- ¼ cup Khus Khus 25gm
- ¾ cup Khoya 100gm
Instructions
- Trim off the head of the Dates using a sharp knife, chop it up and remove the seeds. Keep the Dates in a mixer grinder jar and blend them into a smooth puree. Add some water while you're making the Puree to make a smooth Puree.
- Heat a Frying Pan and Add the Khus Khus or Poppy Seeds to it. Toast it over medium-high flame until it gets fragrant and toasty. Once it's toasty, take it off on a plate.
- Add 1 tbsp Ghee in a Pan and add the chopped Cashew Nuts. Toast until it gets nutty and golden brown in color. Once it's toasted, take it off the pan and keep aside.
- Add ghee in a Pan. As the Ghee Melts, add the Dates Puree. Once the Dates get aromatic, after about 1-2 min over a low flame, add the grated Khoya and Grated Coconut. Mix all of these until they get toasted and start to leave the Pan. Once it's done, take it off the heat. Add the toasted Cashew Nuts and the Raisins. Mix well until combined.Allow the mixture to cool down to room temperature.
- Now, once the Laddu mixture had cooled down, make small Balls of the filling. Dust with toasted Khus Khus all over the Ladoo and serve.
