What does Kiwi Jam Taste like?
Kiwi as you might know has a tart-y sort of taste. So, the Jam is quite like that but not entirely. Because of sugar, the tart-y texture is significantly reduced and all you are left with is a beautiful taste.
This Homemade Kiwi Jam tastes extremely delicious. You get a beautiful balance of sweet and tart.
And, that gorgeous green color of the Jam is something that you'll fall in love with.
Ingredients You'll Need to Make Kiwi Jam:
- Kiwi fruit - I have used about 6 baby kiwi fruits to make this Kiwi Jam.
- Sugar and Water - I have used about 2 cups of sugar and 2 cups of water to make the sugar syrup.
- Lemon Juice - I have used just one lemon juice to balance out the excess sweetness of this Kiwi Jam.
How to Make a Kiwi jam at home?
- Melt Sugar & Water: In a non-stick pan over low heat make a sugar syrup of two string consistency.
- Peel and Remove the Stalk of Kiwi: Peel the outer layer of kiwi and remove the stalk from the kiwi.
- Chop Kiwi into bite-sized pieces: Now chop Kiwi into small bite-sized pieces and keep it in a blender.
- Puree: Make a paste. But, try to keep the pieces a little chunky. Don't blend everything into a smooth paste.
- Mix Kiwi Paste with Sugar Syrup: Once your sugar syrup reaches a two-string consistency then add kiwi paste. Mix well using a spatula and simmer on a low flame for at least 20-30 minutes stirring often. This will thicken eventually and will start sticking to the spatula.
- Add Lemon Juice: Finally, Squeeze in some lemon juice and stir it in for 2-3 minutes.
- Pour it in a jar: Once done, pour it in a jar and let it stay on the counter for 24 hours.
How to Store Kiwi Jam?
- Allow Kiwi Jam to stay on the countertop for at least 24 hours.
- Do Not Keep it in the refrigerator right after it is cooked. Allow it to stay at room temperature for about 24 hours.
- After that, you can store your kiwi jam in the refrigerator for about 2-3 months.

- 6 baby Kiwis
- 2 cups Sugar
- 2 cups Water
- 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
Instructions
- Make Sugar Syrup by melting 2 cups of sugar in 2 cups of water. As the sugar melts allow it to reach to 2 strings consistency.
- Peel and chop the Kiwis in Half. Place them in a blender jar and blend them into a puree. You can keep it chunky if you wish to.
- Pour the Kiwi Puree in the Sugar Syrup. Reduce the heat and cover cook the jam for 20-30 minutes. Keep stirring at regular intervals.
- Add Lemon Juice and stir to combine. Once the jam thickens and sticks to the spatula, take it out in a sterilized jar and allow it to cool down.
- Keep the Kiwi Jam on the counter for 24 hours before refrigerating it.
