Spicy Chili Paneer is the best street style Panner recipe. Also, its easy, saucy and so delicious. Paneer pieces are tossed in Cornflour and fried so that they have a crunchy exterior and soft interior. And then it is tossed with other veggies and smeared in a saucy gravy composed of the trio – Soy sauce, Tomato Sauce and Chili Sauce. Seriously guys! It doesn’t get easier than this. This pretty much sums up my recipe for spicy Chili Panner.
We’ve all been there. Be it a restaurant Buffet or a street sidewalk, but the aroma of this Chili Panner draws inevitable attention and love from all of us! I am a huge Paneer lover myself and Chili Paneer is one of my favorite recipes. Especially one that you find on roadsides. Umm! That's one memory that I will always cherish in my life.
Chilli Paneer is actually one of those recipes whose saucy part and the crispy paneer pieces turn the table around. I also like how we keep our onions and capsicum diced. That way we get a beautiful crunch along with a saucy gravy.
I love everything about homemade chili paneer. One reason is that you can have as much as you want and secondly, you have the freedom to experiment with the recipe. I think I enjoy Chilli Paneer with some Tava Fried Rice. It tastes Lipsmackingly delicious. But, people growing up in India would agree to me that each one of us has our own favorite combination with chilli paneer. Right? Some like Chilli Paneer with Rice, while some prefer it with Puri, while some enjoy it with Maggi.
How to Make Restaurant Style Spicy Chilli Paneer at home?
Making Chilli Paneer is surely one of the easiest and most fun jobs on earth. The thick spicy chilli paneer gravy with the crispy paneer pieces and crunchy veggies feels so comforting and so tasty. If it was possible then I would name chilli paneer as the spiciest, youthful and tasty Paneer recipe
To make Chilli paneer first we need to fry our paneer cubes in hot oil until it turns beautifully golden brown. If you think that your paneer will become chewy, then you can throw in a bowl of cold water once they are fried. This step will make sure that your paneer is soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside.
To make the gravy for chilli paneer first we add 2-3 cloves of chopped garlic and broken dried red chillies in slightly hot oil. Remember that we shouldn't place our garlic in steaming hot oil because that way our garlic would burn fast. Now, that we have added our garlic in slight hot oil, the garlic will ooze out its flavors in the oil and make it both fragrant and flavorful.
As it begins to sizzle, we add our diced onions and capsicum or bell peppers. Since we have to keep the veggies crunchy we will just toss it lightly. Always remember that your flame should be on high. Chineese cooking is never done on low flame.
As the onions turn slighltly pale, add your fried paneer pieces give all of that a good stir, the way you see on streets. Let the paneer pieces jump in veggies and garlicky oil for just 30-45 seconds on high flame.
Now, its time to add the sauces. After all, without sauces, Chineese Cooking is nothing. While making a spicy restaurant like chilli paneer gravy, we will add ½ teaspoon soy sauce, tomato sauce and my special ingredient is schezwan sauce. Now season it with salt and pepper. Add some green chillies and green onions along with some seasame seeds for garnishing. Your homemade Chilli Paneer is ready! Yay! Pat your back!
