Navratri Vrat me khane wali sabji
When it comes to vrat me khane wali sabji many people are confused and think, can we eat Haldi, can we eat tomatoes.
Well, many people say that it is not right to have haldi or turmeric during vrat. Therefore I have avoided it while making this sabji.
In this Navratri Fasting recipe these are the ingredients that I have used:
- Boiled Aloo - 3 large
- Shudh Desi Ghee
- Moongfali - ½ cup
- Jeera or cumin seeds - 1 tablespoon
- 2-chopped tomatoes
- 3-4 chopped green chilies
- 1 teaspoon Sendha Namak
- ½ Tablespoon Kali Mirch
Vrat ke aloo ki sabzi
To make this aloo tamatar ki vrat wali sabji there are just FOUR basic steps.
- First, boil and Peel 4-5 Potatoes and keep aside
- Now heat 1 tablespoon ghee in a pan. Add ½ Cup Moongfali or Peanuts and roast them slightly. Keep them aside.
- Add 1 Tablespoon Shudh Desi Ghee in the same pan. Add ½ Teaspoon Jeera or Cumin Seeds. When Jeera shimmers, add 1 chopped tomato, 2-3 chopped green chilies, potatoes.
- Season with salt (Sendha Namak) and Black pepper Powder (Kali Mirch Powder). Add Peanuts and Serve.
- Garnish with Freshly Chopped Coriander leaves (Dhania Patta) and serve with Kuttu Ki Puri or Kuttu ki Roti.

Ingredients
- 3 medium sized Potatoes boiled & halved
- 2 Tbsp Ghee
- 1 cup Peanuts (Mungfali)
- 2 Medium sized Tomatoes chopped
- 3-4 chopped Green Chilis (Hari Mirch)
- 1 Tsp Sea Salt or Sendha Namak
- 1 Tsp Black Pepper (Kali Mirch Powder)
- ½ cup Coriander Leaves (Hara Dhaniya) chopped
Instructions
- Boil and Peel the Potatoes and keep aside
- Heat some ghee in a Pan and toast the Peanuts lightly and keep them aside.
- Add ghee in the same Pan. Add some Jeera (cumin) and toast it over low flame. Next, add the chopped Tomatoes, add chopped green chilis, Potatoes, and the salt and pepper.Toast over medium flame until the Potato gets fried. Finally, add the Peanuts and mix well.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve
